Abstract

Josh Seidner interviews retired dentist and family friend Alvin Berger about the energy transformations he has witnessed throughout his life, as well as his career in dentistry. Dr Berger discusses inflation since the 1960s, observing that he did not experience dramatic effects of energy price hikes himself or frequently hear patients discuss energy. He outlines his informed skepticism about the findings of climate scientists and the costs of environmental activism against large energy projects. He describes his experience with electric cars and his views on nuclear energy and oil pipelines. Josh and Dr Berger conclude by discussing investments.
