The purpose of this paper is to examine Leo Strauss’s illustration of Machiavelli’s deliberate break with classical political philosophy through examining "Thoughts on Machiavelli." With the results of this investigation, I attempt to shed light on by the significance of Machiavelli for Strauss and his critique of modern political thoughts.
