A Blaxican Theology explores the relationship between race and religion by exploring two racial categories-- mestizaje and Blackness-- and how they become integrated into Mexican and Black theologies of liberation. I explore the history of these racial categories and their theological significance before exploring the nature of theology itself. Theology like race, I argue, is the result of meaning-making. Meaning-making is a gift from God, though now in a distorted state. I argue that Blaxican theology recognizes this and argues for a theology of abolition to pursue our collective ends towards liberation.
