Abstract
The LHCb experiment has recently reported two excited ωc resonances decaying to $\Xi\frac{c}{+}K^-$, with masses about 3185 MeV and 3327 MeV. We discuss their assignment to $2S_{1/2}$ and $2S_{3/2}$ states, which can be compared with masses based on extrapolation from the observed $1S$ states. The agreement is not perfect, but weighs against an earlier alternative assignment. Consequences for the spin-averaged $2P$ states are discussed.
