Description

Since January 20, 2025 when the second Trump Administration began, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which is a federal agency, has conducted raids across the U.S. under the mass deportation order of the Trump Administration. This is a component of the Trump Administration's Project 2025 agenda. Cities across the U.S., such as Chicago, have been affected by ICE presence. The University of Chicago has experienced ICE presence. ICE presence could especially affect the emotional well-being of international students due to the threat of visa revocation and deportation. This research paper addresses the question of, "How do international students at The University of Chicago describe their emotional well-being during the ICE presence in Chicago?"
