Does Auditory Mental Imagery Exhibit Neural Overlap With Auditory Perception?
Description
This auditory perception study examines the potential overlap between pitch perception and auditory mental imagery. It is hypothesized that the electrophysiological signals emitted when perceiving a pure tone and the signals emitted when imagining the same pure tone will exhibit similarities on the power spectrum. Results indicate that there are no significant differences in power between the signals emitted during perception and those emitted during mental reconstruction.
