Description

In addition to the quality of the controls, one factor that is often overlooked is the spectrum of available controls. This dissertation demonstrates how small differences in local operation capabilities can affect overall performance for entanglement generation, verification, and manipulation: in a photon capture process, how access to reflection permits perfect capture in the noiseless regime and improve efficiency in the noisy regime; how Pauli measurements are not suitable for verifying some simplest possible states; and how a single qudit gate can facilitate manipulation of entanglement with local Clifford gates in tripartite stabilizer states over qudits with nonsquarefree levels.
