TY - THES AB - The issue of multinational corporations and the exploitation of their labor force, which is largely made up of women of lower economic standing in Asian countries, is not a new occurrence. However, businesses have engaged in practices that have expanded their level of reach, contributing to harmful working conditions. This thesis introduces several key examples that establish the responsibility of major corporations, pushing back against claims that they did not know about worker mistreatment. This paper will examine what some of the solutions can be, and how current support can be built upon to navigate the disparities workers experience because of their social status.
